Trace Church in Colorado Springs Launches Story Groups

Colorado Springs, CO - Jan 25, 2023 - Trace Church is starting a new sermon series for the year 2024 that they are calling Story Groups.

Trace Church, in Colorado Springs, is launching this new sermon series for the next 32 weeks to get more people into their community groups and increase biblical literacy amongst their congregants. The sermon series is planned to go through the entirety of the Bible over the year.

For Trace, they say “the goal of this series is to address the felt needs of people in the church across the world who want to find community and get to know their Bible better.” Finding community and knowing the Bible are two of the top five biggest requests from people attending churches and so Trace wants to address those needs with this sermon series. 

On Sunday mornings, their church will be working its way through the entire Bible to develop a deeper understanding and context of Scripture. This will help the people at Trace church get to know their Bible better and help them know more about what they believe. Along with Sunday gatherings, they are encouraging everyone in the church to join a group that they are calling Story Groups. These Story Groups will help churchgoers further engage with Scripture and also encourage a more intentional community where churchgoers can be with others outside of Sunday morning services. 

Potential topics and themes covered during this sermon series are deliverance, the person of Jesus Christ, and the phrase “Shepherd King”.

Senior Pastor Aaron Pennington says “We want to know God’s word so that we can better show God’s love to others. We want to show people who we know and the best way we can do that is to get to know God ourselves. We want to know God so that we can show God.”
